About

I am a Seattle-based student in the Year Up program @ Seattle Central College. I am using this site to re-learn web development while also practiciing my applicaton security skills. I am currently working on a full-stack project. To showcase my work, I am passionate about photography, rock climbing, hardware tinkering, and high-end audio gear. Originally from Utah, I grew up in NYC before relocating to Washington, where my family and grandparents have been incredibly supportive. Outside of school, you’ll often find me exploring new hobbies or capturing life’s moments through my camera lens.

Experience

Currently working as an Application Security Software Engineering Intern, developing a full-stack internal project using the Faceplate JavaScript framework (frontend) and Baseplate with Python (backend). The project involves building an API and integrating it with a user interface, serving as an onboarding exercise to become familiar with the organization's tech stack and workflows. Gaining hands-on experience with secure coding practices and preparing to contribute to core application security initiatives.

Collaborated with a team of three to recondition the company’s website using WordPress, improving platform aesthetics and usability. Assisted in developing and customizing projects to meet deliverables, contributing to a successful internship outcome.

Education

Currently enrolled in Year Up, a rigorous, year-long program that combines college-level coursework, professional training, and a six-month internship. Developing expertise in web development, Python, Java, data analysis, and business communication to prepare for a career in application development. Currently applying these skills as an Application Security Software Engineering Intern at Reddit, where I’m building a full-stack internal project using the Faceplate (JavaScript) and Baseplate (Python) frameworks to gain hands-on experience with secure development practices and production workflows.

Graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Certification, demonstrating strong proficiency in design and programming. Completed foundational courses in design and animation, building creative and technical skills. Further expanded programming expertise through a specialized video game programming class, enhancing problem-solving and coding abilities.
